Get "write website inclusion statement" off your to-do list before lunch
Just hit play on the workshop, follow the step-by-step writing blocks built right into the videos, and then send it to me — I’ll personally review it to make sure it actually lands (and doesn't give your dream clients the ick).
“We are committed to equality” 🤒
“We celebrate diversity and welcome everyone” 🤢
“We value all people regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation” 🤮
Yeah, you’re not falling for that. You don’t need this corporate fluff or tick-box energy, do you?
No, you need a better statement that lands
75%
of consumers globally say that diversity and inclusion – or a lack thereof – influence their purchase decisions
(Kanta Brand Inclusion Index 2024)
57%
of consumers are more loyal to brands that commit to addressing social inequities in their actions
(Deloitte Insights, 2021)
You can’t afford to assume your inclusive aura will shine through the screen and grab your ideal client's heart without you saying a thing.
People are looking for proof. They want to know you’re committed to this. If they don’t see it? ‘Poof’ off they go.
Maybe you have an inclusion statement, maybe you haven’t tried because you know, deep down, it'd just be you, a blinking cursor, and a whole lot of nothing.
But you don't need to wait for a quiet month (that never comes) or have 20 years experience in DEI to change that.
You just need to block out a 2-hour window to hit play, write along with me, and submit your draft.
Then, give me a week to personally review and polish it (it's me that has the 20 years experience)
All that’s left is for you to do is hit publish and start building trust with every website visitor
Get an inclusion statement done (and done right) in the time it takes to have two cuppas.
Together, we'll write (or rewrite) a statement that screams ‘you’re welcome here’ to your dream clients. Here’s what our two hours together looks like:
15 mins: Get in the zone
I’ll get you in the right headspace and warm you up for writing.
25 mins: Get it our your head (+ heart)
Guided journaling to dump your raw inclusion values and beliefs. This will be your foundation so your statement feels totally true to you (and nothing like those corporate BS ones). You’ll be amazed at what’s already in there when you stop censoring yourself.
10 mins: Take a break
Step away from the screen. Go boil the kettle, stretch, and let your brain breathe (told you there were two cuppas involved)
60 mins: Polish it up.
I’ll walk you through the six elements of my inclusion statement matrix, showing you the difference between fluffy BS and what actually lands (with loads of real world examples). Cus we aren't aiming for a polite "aww, that's sweet," we want a "DAMN, they really mean that."
Then you’ll have a dedicated 25-minute writing block. Don’t worry, you’ll be following a structured framework designed to pull the right words out of you and get you to a solid, 80% there draft (that’s all. No perfection needed)
10 mins: Submit your inclusion statement.
Just plonk your draft into the submission form within 7 days of purchase. Then gimme a week to personally review your statement and polish it up, so you can breathe easy knowing your statement isn’t gonna get you cancelled (joke! Sort of 😉)
And that’s it. Close your laptop and go enjoy the massive dopamine hit of finally making your business more inclusive after putting it off for so long.
You’re leaving with a statement for your website that’s gonna…
Get you clear on how you really want to show up as an inclusive business.
Give a warm hello with a more inclusive and welcoming online presence.
Stop people side-eyeing and build trust instead.
Attract clients who instantly connect with your values
(yes, in that order)
Meet your inclusion statement fixer
I’m Sumi (they/she). I’ve been doing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work since before iPhones and Instagram even existed.
Look, I know that writing about your values is hard, and the fear of getting it wrong is real. But, I’ve read and reviewed so much corporate guff in my time, which means I know exactly how to pull the real magic out of your head and get it onto the page.
Let's fix your statement together - it’ll be so much easier with me by your side.
What people say

— Anne, Little Skein Yarn
“It made me take swift action where I’ve been fannying about for years. Sumi’s expert critical eye gave me such helpful pointers and ideas”

— Pippa, Disobedient Business Co

Got questions? I’ve got answers (probably)

Honestly? No. BUT you absolutely do need people to see what you stand for and how you’ll treat them without having to scroll back 3 years through your feed (because they just won’t). If you want to fix that by creating regular content that shows your inclusive values, knock yourself out.
But the alternative is to have an inclusion statement on your website doing the heavy lifting, so that when you drop the ball on content (no judgment. I’m right there with you), you’re still pulling people into your world with your inclusive vibe. Plus, once you’ve got your statement, you can easily break it up and repurpose it into posts for social media. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Sure thing! Yours will look completely different because it'll be YOURS, but here's the kinda thing you'll leave with:
Saloni Chamberlain - marketing mentor and coach (scroll down)Anne Vally - maker, knitter, sewist and writer
Ellie Kime - messaging mentor
Kim Scotland - web designer
The Disobedient Business Co - Business strategist, coach and mentor
Lis Watkins - artist
Siobhan Strode - mentor for changemakers (scroll down)

Yes! Paying in full upfront isn't always feasible, so you can pay in two instalments (£75 for 2 months) if that’s easier on your bank account.
-
The workshop is hosted on ThriveCart. All the videos include closed captions and a full transcript, and you’ll also get a copy of the slides.
The workbook is a Google Doc designed to be screen-reader friendly (with proper heading structures). If you have specific access needs or questions before you buy, just ping me an email at hello@sumifitzgerald.com and we’ll figure it out together.
-
You'll have a solid, usable draft ready by the end of the lessons – think of it as 80% there! To get that final 20% and make it truly shine, you’ll send it to me for your expert review. I’ll get my feedback to you within 5 working days of submission, and then we’ve got that second round of edits to get it across the finish line. As long as you send me your draft within 7 days of buying the workshop (or pop me an email for an extension), we’re golden.
-
Once you’ve watched the workshop and got your draft to that 80% there stage, you’ll send it over to me for detailed feedback (there’ll be no generic ‘good job’ from me).
You have 7 days from purchase to hit send so you stop overthinking it and just get it out of your head and into my inbox.
Within 5 working days of receiving your draft, I’ll send you a detailed review by email with specific pointers on how to make it more authentic and impactful.
If you want a final check, you can tweak your statement and ping it back to me for one last eyeball within 7 days of receiving your feedback.
(As well as giving you a little kick up the bum, the deadlines also reserve space in my diary to make sure your statement gets the line-by-line attention it deserves)
-
I get it, sometimes life starts life-ing. The 7-day window is there as a friendly kick up the bum to help you actually get this finished, but it’s not a "one strike and you're out" rule. If you’re struggling to hit the deadline, just drop me an email before your 7 days is up (don’t worry, you get reminder emails) and we’ll figure out a new window for your review. I’m here to help you get your statement live, not to stress you out!
If you miss the deadline entirely without letting me know, you’ll still have lifetime access to the workshop videos so you can write it whenever you like, but you will forfeit your personal 1:1 review from me. Let's make sure that doesn't happen - deal?
-
First of all, you aren't. Everyone thinks their draft will be rubbish, but I’ve yet to see one that we couldn’t turn into gold. I’m not gonna just say "off you go" and leave you staring at a blank page - I walk you through a structured, iterative framework that builds your statement piece by piece.
And let’s pretend for a second that your draft is a hot mess. That’s exactly why my personal review is included. I’ll take your messy thoughts and help you make them un-sh*t, impactful, and clear. You don't need to be a copywriter or have a PhD in inclusion — you just need to care about your clients and watch the workshop.
-
Sure will! This is actually the best time to do it. Having a statement isn’t the reward you get for having a diverse business - it’s one high-impact thing you can do so that people from all backgrounds (but especially marginalised groups) feel invited to work with you in the first place. In the workshop, we’ll focus on your genuine values and the tangible actions you’re taking or commit to taking, so it’s honest and grounded in your reality, rather than sounding like performative fluff. It’s a great first step to making your business better for everyone!
-
100%. Think of this as a statement glow-up that turns your ‘meh’ statement into something that genuinely builds trust and connection. BUT, you won’t just be sending me what you’ve already got. To get the most out of my review, you’ll need to follow the steps in the workshop and make sure your draft hits all the elements in the Matrix (the one inside the workshop, not the Keanu Reeves one). By the time your statement hits my inbox, it’ll already be MILES better, then I’ll help you take it the rest of the way.
